RV Repair Edmonton — Fixed Where It Sits, By a Red Seal Tech

I'm Kolton White. I spent seven years inside a dealership service department before I went mobile — long enough to learn that most of what comes through those bays never needed a bay at all. It needed a qualified set of hands and two hours at your unit.

So that's what I do. Travel trailers and fifth wheels, fixed in your driveway, your storage lot, or your campsite.

Thirty seconds. Most of the time I can tell you what it is, roughly what it runs, and when I can be there — same day.

You Already Know How the Other Way Goes

You call the dealership in April. They can look at it in five weeks. Maybe.

So you hook up a 30-foot fifth wheel, drag it across the city in traffic, drop it in a gravel lot, and wait. A week later, someone finally walks out to it. Two weeks after that you get it back — right as the long weekend you bought the thing for comes and goes.

All that for a bearing repack. Or a fridge that won't fire. Or a soft spot in the floor you just want someone honest to look at.

Here's the part I can tell you from the inside: none of that wait is about the difficulty of the job. It's about the bay. Bays are expensive, so they stay full, so there's a queue — and your trailer sits in that queue whether it needs four hours of skilled work or forty minutes.

Take away the bay and you take away the queue.

Three Steps, One Visit

  1. 1

    Text me a photo

A picture and a sentence is usually enough. Odds are I've fixed the same thing fifty times and can tell you what it is, what it'll run, and when I can come. If it's something that genuinely needs to be diagnosed on site, I'll say that up front — you won't get a guess dressed up as an answer.

  2. 2

    I come to you

Driveway, storage compound, campground, acreage — anywhere inside about an hour of the city. My truck carries the tools and the common parts, so most jobs finish the day I show up.

  3. 3

    It's fixed. You're camping.

No second trip to pick it up. No shuttle ride. Your trailer never leaves the pad.

Mobile Trailer Repair & Maintenance Services

All of it done on site, at your unit.

Winterization & De-Winterization
Done properly, with the water lines actually protected, before the first hard frost catches you out.
Wheel Bearing Repacks & Running Gear
The maintenance everybody skips until a hub lets go on Highway 16. Brake inspection, axle seals and grease included.
Roof Repair & Resealing
Every seal on your roof and body has a service life, and water always finds the seam you forgot. The cheapest insurance your trailer will ever get.
Inspections
Pre-purchase, before you hand over $40,000 for somebody else's problem. And a peace-of-mind inspection service before a big season.
Solar & 12-Volt Systems
Panels, controllers, batteries, charging-system upgrades, and the wiring gremlins in between.
Appliance Work
Furnaces, fridges, water heaters, and A/C units that quit the week you need them.
Awnings
Motor replacement, arm and fabric work, and control-board diagnosis when the wind sensor stops making sense.
Floor & Linoleum Replacement
Soft spots, water damage, full lino.
Exterior Panels & Filon
Front cap and sidewall panel replacement where the damage has gone past a patch.
Hot Water Tanks & Undercarriage
Tank swaps, plumbing, and an honest look underneath while I'm down there.
Warranty Repairs
Repairs and maintenance with dealership-grade paperwork, because that's where I learned to write it.
Motorhomes — Coach Side
Appliances, plumbing, electrical, roof and interior. Chassis, engine and drivetrain belong with an automotive shop, and I'll say so up front.

And when it isn't my lane, I'll say so. Spot lino patching and fiberglass repair both come out better in a controlled shop, so I hand those to two specialists I trust rather than doing a mediocre version in your driveway. You get the right fix, not the convenient one.

The Range — Sherwood Park and an Hour Out

I'm based in Sherwood Park, minutes from Edmonton. How far I drive is also how the callout is priced — so the rings below are the rate card.

  • Within 30 kmFirst hour at my standard rate ($120/hr) — trip included
  • 30–50 km+ $30 trip charge
  • 50 km ++ $1/km

You'll know the number before my truck leaves the yard. If something genuinely needs time to track down, that time runs at the same $120/hr — no separate diagnostic schedule — and I'll tell you before I start chasing it.

Worth doing the math on. The shop route costs you two hauls across the city, three weeks of your trailer sitting in someone's gravel lot, and usually the weekend you bought it for. My first hour is $120 and your trailer never moves.

Fridge · on site

★★★★★

Kolton absolutely saved our holiday! Our RV fridge failed couple of days before we were set to leave, and Kolton came out and replaced it on the spot. Incredibly fast, professional service. Highly recommend!

Kolton did a great job installing a new awning motor at a very reasonable rate. He also diagnosed an electronic component failure in my awning wind sensor control panel and then found me a control panel replacement online.

However he felt that this was an expensive option so he took the time to research if the individual electronic control board components could be repaired locally… He then went on to find a supplier that could supply them, which saved me a lot of money.

Homerun RV Storage

★★★★★

Kolton White came to Homerun RV Storage and winterized our trailer. It was very affordable and convenient. He was so nice (even brought donuts to share) and was able to answer a few questions we had about our trailer. He is a Red Seal Technician, so we will definitely use him in the future if anything needs fixing.

Straight Answers

Can you actually finish it in my driveway — or will you get halfway in and tell me it needs a shop?

Fair question, and the one I get most. Most of what comes off my phone finishes in a single visit, because most RV work is seals, appliances, 12-volt and running gear, and none of that needs a bay.

The jobs that genuinely need a controlled environment are lino patching and fiberglass — and I'll tell you that from the photo, before I drive out. Not after you've paid for an hour of my time.

How fast can you get here?

Text a photo and you'll usually have an answer the same day. Most work gets scheduled within days rather than weeks. That's the entire point of skipping the queue.

What's the most common problem you see?

Water damage, and it almost always starts at a failed seal. Roof and body sealants have a service life of only a few years. An annual reseal inspection costs a fraction of a floor or wall rebuild.

Do you work on motorhomes?

Yes — on the coach side. Appliances, plumbing, electrical, roof and interior are all fair game. Chassis, engine and drivetrain belong with an automotive shop, and I'll say so up front.

Do you handle warranty work?

Yes. Seven years in a dealership service department means the documentation, photos and estimates come back in the format warranty administrators actually accept.

What don't you do?

Spot linoleum patching, and fiberglass or auto body work. Both need a controlled environment to come out right, so I refer them straight to specialists I trust.

Your Trailer, Fixed Where It's Parked

The Alberta season runs about May to September. That's the whole return on a $40,000 asset that sits in a storage lot the other seven months — and every week it's broken, or sitting in a shop's back lot, comes out of that number.

Two weeks a year get busy enough that I book solid: the April thaw, when everything that failed over winter surfaces at once, and late September, when everyone remembers winterization on the same Tuesday. Outside those, I can usually be there this week.

P.S. — Booking winterization or a bearing repack before the fall rush means you pick the date instead of the waitlist. The calendar fills front to back.

Rental Fleets & Shop Overflow

Running a rental fleet?

I handle turnaround maintenance and repairs on your schedule and your lot, so units go back out earning instead of sitting in a queue.

Running a shop or dealership?

I take sublet work of any kind — warranty jobs, spring overflow, or the tickets your bays can't absorb. Dealership-trained, so the paperwork comes back the way your service writer needs it.
